ADMISSION CRITERIA
To become a member of the French in Motion organization, you need to meet certain criteria and go through an application process.
The selection criteria are typically based on a combination of factors, such as the applicant’s academic background, professional experience, language skills, and motivation to participate in the program.
While specific requirements may vary, here are some general criteria you might need to fulfill:
1. Professional experience: Members should have a significant track record of professional experience in the film and TV industry, including working on films that have been screened at film festivals, released in theaters, or distributed through streamed services.
2. Recognition: Members should have received recognition for their work, such as awards or nominations from prestigious film festivals or industry organizations.
3. Artistic merit: Members should have demonstrated artistic merit and creativity in their work, as evidenced by critical acclaim or positive reviews from audiences.
4. Skills: Members should possess the necessary skills and expertise to contribute to the organization’s mission, such as directing, producing, screenwriting, cinematography, acting, editing, PR or Publicity/Marketing.
5. Professionalism: Members should conduct themselves professionally and have a reputation for ethical conduct in the film industry.
6. Commitment: Members should be committed to the organization’s mission and willing to participate actively in its activities and events. Demonstrated commitment to promoting cultural exchange and collaboration between France and the United States through film may also be important.
7. Diversity: The organization may seek to promote diversity and inclusivity by considering applicants from various backgrounds, including gender, race, and ethnicity.
8. References and recommendation: The organization may require references or letters of recommendation from industry professionals who can attest to the applicant‘s qualifications and experience.
9. Geographical location: Applicants must be legal residents in the U.S.A.
10. Language Skills: Proficiency in both French and English languages may be required, as French in Motion focuses on promoting French cinema and cultural exchange between France and the United States.
11. A strong network of contacts within the film industry, including media outlets, journalists, filmmakers, and industry professionals, can be beneficial.
Submit an application form along with any required documentation (such as a resume, portfolio of work, IMDB profile, LinkedIn profile, and references) and possibly undergo an interview or review process conducted by the Executive Board and Head of Chapters.
